District 63 To Host Facilities Planning Community Meetings

As East Maine School District 63 continues gathering public input on its proposed Facilities Plan and possible bond referendum, the District will host five community meetings in April to share details with residents.

Learn more about the District's Facilities plan.

The meetings are open to all residents of District 63 and will be held:

  • Saturday, April 11 at 10 a.m.: Apollo Elementary School, 10100 Dee Road, Des Plaines
  • Tuesday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m.: Mark Twain Elementary School, 9401 Hamlin, Niles
  • Thursday, April 16 at 7 p.m.: Washington Elementary School, 2710 Golf Road, Glenview
  • Saturday, April 18 at 11 a.m.: Nelson Elementary School, 8901 Ozanam Avenue, Niles
  • Wednesday, April 22 at 6:30 p.m.: Melzer Elementary School, 9400 North Oriole, Morton Grove

A final decision on whether to place a referendum on the ballot—which, if approved by voters, would address substantial facility needs throughout the District—will be made by the Board of Education in August. If the Board proceeds, the referendum question would appear on the November 3, 2026 ballot.

All residents, whether or not they have students in a D63 school, are welcome to attend any of the meetings.
