What is District 63's Summer Quest Enrichment Program?
Open to all currently registered students entering PreK - 8th grade in the 2024-2025 school year (as well as graduating 8th graders), Summer Quest offers two free sessions. Participants choose two classes in either Session #1 or Session #2; each class runs for two weeks. Classes are rooted in the Illinois Learning Standards and facilitated by qualified instructors. Popular classes from past years include Arts & Crafts, STEAM, Food Science, Creative Writing, and more! Check back in early March for the Summer Quest 2024 class options.
What are the dates and times for this program?
As noted above, students sign-up to participate in one of the two sessions:
- Session #1: June 24-27 AND July 1-3
- Session #2: July 8-11 AND 15-18
1st-8th Grade Times:
- Class #1: 1:15-2:15 p.m. each day
- Class #2: 2:30-3:30 p.m. each day
Pre-K-K Times
1:15 - 3:30 p.m.
Students who register for PK-K Summer Quest classes will rotate through all four classes (Fun & Fitness, Early Engineers, Music & Movement, Imagination Station) for every day of their session. Each class will be 25 minutes each.
Where will classes take place?
- Preschool & Kindergarten: First Steps Preschool
- 1st - 4th Grade: Melzer Elementary School
- 5th- 8th Grade: Apollo Elementary School
What enrichment classes are available to students?
Is there a cost to participate in this program?
No. As noted above, Summer Quest is free to all registered District 63 students! All materials and supplies will be provided by District 63 staff.
Is transportation provided for student(s)?
While parents are welcome to drop-off and pick-up their students, District 63 is also offering free bus transportation for participating students. You can choose the bus transportation option during the enrollment process.
My child is participating in a morning invitation-only summer school program. Can they still participate in this afternoon Summer Quest program?
Yes. Additionally, your child can participate in our Lunch Bridge Program, through which students will be provided lunch and playtime in the break between programs. You can select the Lunch Bridge Program during the enrollment process.
My child is participating in Expanded Learning's Summer Camp Academy. Can my child still participate in this afternoon Summer Quest program?
Of course! And busing will be provided to transport your child safely to and from Summer Quest classes each day.
How do I enroll my child(ren) to participate?
Registration runs March 11 - April 30. On that date, check back to find step-by-step enrollment instructions at the top of this page to get started.
