    An email will be sent to your student email account on Monday morning at 9 a.m.   It will include links to the updated E-Learning Choice Board and E-Learning Reflection Journal.  You should be on your computer by 9 am to begin learning. 
     
    If you have any questions as you work through the activities, you can email me at abongiorno@emsd63.org from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on scheduled school days this week. 
     
    Attention Parents:  Please fill out and submit DAILY ATTENDANCE for your children.  You should use the E-Learning Attendance Form/Fomulario de asistencia del dia de aprendizaje electronico.   I will also send the same email to you that I am sending to your student on Monday morning only.  
     
     

    All District 63 School Buildings Remain Closed Through the End of the School Year

    As directed by the Governor, all in-person learning is suspended for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Our school buildings will remain closed through the end of the school year. Currently, the last scheduled day of the year is Thursday, June 11. If this changes, we’ll let families know as quickly as possible. 

    D63 continues to closely monitor information about the Coronavirus from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Illinois Department of Public Health

    Free Meal Pickup During School Closure

    To ensure that our students, families, and members of the community have the resources they need during this challenging time, D63 is partnering with Maine Township High School District 207 to provide meals each week for all children under the age of 18.

    Food for our district and community families

    Mondays & Wednesdays: D63

    • Meals will be available (Mondays/Wednesdays) from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m., at Gemini Middle School, 8955 Greenwood Avenue, Niles.
    • Parents and community members may pick up breakfasts and lunches for each member of the household under age 18.
    • Pickup process
      • PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE BEFORE 9 A.M. FOR THE CAR LINE. We need time to set up our process and equipment.
      • Enter the parking lot off of Greenwood, south of the school building.
      • Do not get out of your car.
      • Turn left in the parking lot and drive north along the building to Door #1 (the front of the building).
      • Tell waiting staff through your car window how many children under 18 in your household. On Monday, you will be given two days worth of breakfast and lunch for children under 18. On Wednesday, you will be given three days worth of meals.
      • Open the trunck of your car. The meals will be placed in it.
      • Once you have your meals, exit the parking lot onto Ballard. 

    Tuesdays & Thursdays: D207

    • Meals will be available (Tuesdays/Thursdays) from 9 - 11 a.m., at all three Maine Township High School District schools: 
      • Maine East, 2601 W. Dempster Street, Park Ridge -bus shelter on the east side of building.
      • Maine South, 1111 S. Dee Road, Park Ridge - Door 3 located in the front circle driveway. 
      • Maine West, 1755 S. Wolf Road, Des Plaines - bus concourse near D wing.
    • Pickup Process
      • Meals will be distributed in a “drive-through” and “walk-through” fashion.
      • Do not get out of your car. Meals will be brought to your car.
      • If you walk to school, please form a line outside and practice social distancing by keeping at least six feet between the others in line. Meals will be brought to you in the walker line.

    Food for Families in our Township: Additional Resources 

    • The Maine Township Food Pantry will provide food to any township resident in need. Stop by the pantry at 1700 Ballard Road, Park Ridge - or call 847.297.2510 x 236. Currently, the Pantry is serving residents Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. 
    • McAllister’s Deli 9465 North Milwaukee Avenue, Niles. Will provide two lunches for children per adult present. No purchase is required. Hours 10:30 a.m. - 8 p.m. but longer hours aren’t permanent. Call 847.423.2607 to check. Remember that the restaurant is open for take out only.
