• msc Hi! I'm Ms. Crowley.

I became a library media specialist because my favorite activities are reading, learning & teaching new things, and talking about books. I search databases for fun, and spend a lot of time reading things online – ask me about the Wikipedia game! I am from Appleton, Wisconsin, and I am a Packer fan (obviously). I've lived in six states and two countries, and I've visited every continent except Antarctica. I moved to Chicago with my husband in 2008.

I have a B.A. in English and Media Studies from Pomona College and an M.S. in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois, which is also where I completed my teacher licensing. I've worked in libraries since 2008, and I began teaching in 2013. Some other jobs I've had: ice cream scooper, newspaper reporter, web & graphic designer, bear builder, and debate teacher.

Students often ask me what my favorite book is. What I always want to say is a quote from one of my favorite movies, Ever After: "I could no sooner choose a favorite star in the heavens!" I have at least five favorite books – but if I really had to pick one, it would be Lizard Music, by Daniel Pinkwater. (We have it in the LMC!)
