American Rescue Plan (ARP - ESSER III) Funds Use Plan
Funds received under the ARP - ESSER III Grant are being used as described below.
Implementation of prevention and mitigation strategies consistent with CDC guidance.
- On-going purchases of school sanitation and disinfecting supplies. This includes, but not limited to, disinfecting wipes for classrooms, cafeterias, gyms, and other rooms; disinfecting solutions for all surfaces; sanitizing stands and bottles to be placed along hallways; sprayers for quicker and more effective disinfecting of classrooms and other school spaces.
- On-going purchases of personal protective equipment (PPE) to minimize the risk of virus spread. This includes, but not limited to, KN95, N95, and other face masks for students and adults; face shields for staff; disposable gloves and gowns for special education teachers and teacher aides and nurses.
- Purchase of air purifiers to ensure the highest quality air possible inside classrooms, gyms, offices, conference rooms, cafeterias, and other school spaces. On-going purchase of filters to maintain these air purifiers in good working order.
- Leasing a modular building that will include two classrooms and bathrooms in order to add classroom space and achieve social distance mitigation goals. The leasing costs include the site work installation.
Use of funds to address the academic impact of lost instructional time.
- Implementation of a robust summer enrichment program for the summer of 2022, 2023, and 2024. Funding will be used to fund the cost of teachers. Teachers’ aides, nurses, and other student support staff that will implement the summer enrichment program
- Funding robust after-school and extended day programs. Funds will be used to fund the cost of staff and instructional aides that will provide these additional services.
- Hiring additional teachers, teachers’ aides, and other instructional staff to reduce classroom sizes and provide more dedicated and intensive instruction to students.
Other uses of funds.
- Purchases of technology that will assist with the continuation of learning when students are at home after the school day or in the event of being under a remote instruction model. Technology purchases include student Chromebooks, teachers' computers that allow for a better remote instruction experience, student hot spots, and wi-fi connectivity service to address the need for home wifi for low-income families.
Interventions and support mechanisms we currently use and will continue to use to ensure we respond to the social, emotional, mental health, and academic needs of our students include: providing our students with access to school counselors, psychologists, social workers, and other support staff; providing check-ins with students and families, implementing restorative circles or mindful moments and learning spaces that provide students with opportunities to self-regulate emotions; providing a health curriculum that teaches students about physical wellness and encourages good health practices; providing a physical education program that focuses on physical fitness and lifetime health activities and physical skills.
