Summer Explorers

    The 2023 invitation-only Summer Explorers programs will take place June 26 - July 20 in the morning.  

    Registration runs March 20 - April 21.

    These Summer Explorer programs are by invitation only. Programs run June 26-29, July 5-7, July 10-13, and July 17-20.  The hours of the program are 8:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Bus information is mailed home in June. If your child has qualified, here are enrollment instructions:

    Information: 

    Ready, Set, Kindergarten (RSK)
    A kindergarten readiness program that strengthens students' literacy and math skills. Materials, bus, and snacks are provided free of charge. Students must be registered for kindergarten with D63 and parents must respond to the invitation by the deadline noted in that invitation. RSK will be offered in-person only at the Early Learning Center. Parents must submit kindergarten medical forms to the Health Office before the first day of RSK. Please note: invitations for RSK will be shared after 2023-2024 District-wide registration opens on April 10 and families have completed the kindergarten registration process.

    Extended School Year (ESY) Pre-K Summer Program
    Free breakfast provided every day. Materials and transportation are provided free of charge. Students will attend the Early Learning Center. Classes will be offered in-person only. Contact Marykaye Roycroft at 847.745.6487 with questions.

    Multilingual Learner (ML) Summer School
    Students who qualify for Dual Language classes, or English language/bilingual services, are eligible to participate in this program that provides language instruction and academic support for English learners. Free breakfast provided every day. Materials and transportation are provided free of charge. Students entering grades 1-4 in the 2023-2024 school year will attend Apollo; students entering grades 5-8 in the 2023-2024 school year will attend Gemini. Classes will be offered in-person only.     • Escuela de Verano para Estudiantes Multilingües (ML)
      Los estudiantes que califican para clases de lenguaje dual o servicios de idioma inglés/bilingües son elegibles para participar en este programa. Todos los días se sirve un desayuno gratuito. La escuela de verano será gratuita este año, esto incluye transporte. Los estudiantes que ingresen a los grados 1-4 en el año escolar 2023-2024 asistirán a Apollo; los estudiantes que ingresen a los grados 5-8 en el año escolar 2023-2024 asistirán a Gemini.
