This is her 2nd year as Washington's Music and Beginning Band teacher. She has taught piano for more than 10 years at Allegro Music and Dance Academy teaching primarily elementary aged students. She most recently taught 6th-8th Grade Band following a student teaching placement as a general music teacher. Ms. Svoboda earned her Bachelor degree in music education from Northern Illinois University, where she primarily studied percussion in addition to tabla and berimbau. While at Allegro, Ms. Svoboda has performed at and helped organize performances at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Ryman, and Disney's House of Blues. She believes that all students have the chance to become lifelong music learners, and her role is to make music fun and relevant to each student. Over the summer Ms. Svoboda got married and became Mrs. Kravetz! She is looking forward to the new music room which will house all of the instruments Washington has.
