    A Little About Me

My name is Phyllis Achille and I have a bachelor's degree in vocal music and a master's degree in teaching and leadership.  My teaching career began in 1986 at St. Alphonsus School located in Chicago Illinois, where I taught pre-school through 8th grade for eight years.  I created and developed the music curriculum, directed the liturgical services, and led the winter and spring shows.  It truly was a wonderful experience.  When my position became part-time, I had no choice but to resign.  I was fortunate to land a job with East Maine School District #63 where I continue to teach music and coach cross-country.  I consider myself not only blessed to be a part of this talented and professional staff, but to teach its outstanding diverse student community as well.

Outside of teaching, I live a very healthy, and active life style. I excercise daily, keep a vegetarian diet and I play organized sports. I also enjoy playing the piano, the ukulele, the guitar and composing my own music.  I have a passion for animals and I advocate for the humane society to help and protect all animals. I have two dogs named Baci and Leo who I absolutely adore.  I also like to participate in charity events within the community. I am first generation Italian and it was my first language.  I revel in my Italian culture and I enjoy cooking its cuisine.

I look forward to a very exciting year infused with lots of fun, learning, and the desire to accomplish great things one song at a time. : )

    Ms. Achille
