A little about me. I grew up in the area graduating from Glenbrook North High School. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champagne majoring in middle school education, with a focus in mathematics. Since then, I have earned two master's degrees. My first is a Master's in Curriuculm and Instruction specializing mathematics for middle school from National Louis University, and the second a focus on English as a second language from Concordia Universtity.
I have been teaching mathematics at Gemini since 2003! I love teaching math, and especially enjoy working with 11-14 year olds. My goal is to make our students feel as though they can be successful and confident in mathematics. I look for ways to make math engaging, collaborative, and relatable.
Outside of school I love spending time with my family. My husband and I have been married since 2006. We have three daughters Serena, Kara, and Diana. My family loves traveling to Door County, Wisconsin on the weekends and summer breaks!
