Meet Miss Kakareka
My name is Roxanne Kakareka and this is my first year at Melzer as the 1st Grade STIL teacher! I am excited to begin my second year of teaching at Melzer and back in my home state of Illinois. I graduted from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in January and began my career as a 6th Grade Special Education teacher at a middle school in Oshkosh, WI.
During my time at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, I was an active member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. Professionally, I previously worked for Fox Valley Autism Treatment Program for two years as well as a student aide at a daycare for a year and a half in the toddler room. These experiences have helped me gain skills to be an effective and positive special education teacher!
