    Hello, 
    Welcome to middle school!  My name is Jennifer Wirtz and I am your [student's] ELA (English/Language Arts) teacher. ELA is a block-scheduled class that teaches strategies and skills for both reading and writing. 
     
    I began working at Gemini Junior High School in 2005.  I earned a BA (Communication-Journalism) and a BS (Political Science-Peace Studies) from Loyola University Chicago, and an M.Ed. from DePaul University. I love to read, go on Pinterest, attend my kids' sporting events, and hang out with my family.
     
    I hope my passion for reading, writing and teaching always shines through!  I look forward to another great school year.
