Meet the Teacher

  • Bitmoji ImageI am so pleased to be teaching 8th grade math at Gemini Middle School! Through the last 20 years, I have taught math in 7th through 12th grade here in Illinois as well as in North Carolina and California. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Loyola University in Chicago and a Master of Science degree in Education Administration from National University in La Jolla, CA. Additionally, I have completed coursework and certifications at other universities including National Louis, Harvard, Northeastern, and North Park.

I am a strong believer in the power of a growth mindset and in the notion that all of us are 'math people'! I believe that through hard work, perseverence, postivity, and a little grit, students can reach any goal they set in math. Throughout this year, we will support each other through encouragement, respect, and a sense of community. Students will be asked to speak like mathematicians, learn through their mistakes, and take academic risks in order to learn and grow!

When I am not teaching math, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, grandson, & close friends, practicing pilates & yoga, watching & attending Cubs & Bears games, and camping or maybe glamping is a better term!:)

I look forward to a happy, peaceful, and productive school year!
