• Mr. Rey

Welcome Gemini Middle School students and families!  My name is John Rey.  I am currently one of the resource special education teachers for the upcoming 2019/2020 school year.   I have had 6 years prior expierence in special education, however this is my first year at Gemini Middle School.  I have taught grades 6-12 in various environments, and currently teach the extended school year  Life Skills program at Maine East High School.  I have obtained my bacherlor's degree as a learning behavior specalist from Western Iliinois University in Macomb in 2013.  I am currently working towards my masters in educational leadership with the principal endorsment through Northeastern Illinois University and will graduate in 2020.  As a a child, I grew up in Des Plaines, and attended various schools in the area.  I look forward to giving back to the community and it's diversity this year as an educator in the area. While teaching plays a huge role in my life, I have many interests outside of the classroom.  I have coached various sports such as girls basketball, boys basketball, girls volleyball, and boys baseball.  Sports play a big role in my life.  In my free time you can find me watching the White Sox, Bears, Blackhawks, and Bulls.  I enjoy taking vactaions, and fishing during down time.  Any questions? Don't hesitate to reach out.
