How old does my child need to be to register for kindergarten in the 2020-2021 school year?
Five years old on or before September 1, 2020.

How do I register my child?
Due to school closures this spring, all registration will be done online.

    Here’s how to get started:

    1. Find out which school your child will attend by entering your address into our School Locator.

    2. Once you know which school your child will attend, fill out the fill out the appropriate Initial Registration Worksheet to begin the registration process:

      Kindergarten Registration Worksheet
New Student (Grades 1-8) Registration Worksheet

    3. Once this form is submitted, the school will email you information about how to set up a Parent Portal account - or, if you already have an account, how to proceed.

    4. Once your Parent Portal account is set up, complete the rest of your kindergarten registration through this portal. If you have technical difficulties or need assistance, email your school:

      gemini411@emsd63.org
      marktwain411@emsd63.org
      melzer411@emsd63.org
      nelson411@emsd63.org
      washington411@emsd63.org

    5. Our Parent Portal includes a “Required Documents” section (see below). If you are able, provide scanned or digital copies of your child's birth certificate as well as the proof of residency, as requested. In any case, you will need to provide these before your registration will be approved. If you are unable to provide scanned or digital documents, look for a follow-up email and information on our website letting you know that schools have reopened - you may bring your documents into the school office at that time.

What do I need to have on hand to register online?
You will need to have a birth certificate, proof of District residency and completed health information forms if possible. If it is not possible to submit completed forms at registration, please note that students can not start the school year without submitting completed forms.

What bus will my child take? What time will s/he be picked up and dropped off?
Bus schedules vary by school. When you register your student, you'll have the option to request bus service - and you'll receive more information about routes and times over the summer.
