Me
  • Hello and Welcome to 4th Grade!

I am so excited for another year at Apollo Elementary School!  My name is Sarah Salemi and I will be your child’s fourth grade teacher this year.  I attended Northeastern Illinois University where I graduated with a degree in elementary education grades kindergarten through 9th grade.  I also attended Roosevelt University where I received my LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist) endorsement.  My entire teaching career has been in East Maine District 63 and I am grateful for that.  I have assisted and taught special education; I have taught 2nd grade, and this will be my eighth year teaching 4th grade.

I have a 20 month old son, Logan,  who I absolutely adore. My husband and I enjoy updating our home and spending quality time with our family.

Teaching has always been a passion for me.  I have a love for learning and I hope that my students also learn to love learning as much as I do.  By making my classroom a safe, fun and disciplined environment, I hope that they will enjoy coming to my classroom and learning something new every day.  I feel that all children are unique and require specific attention and affection for them to flourish.  I will strive to be that for each of my students; an educator who loves each child that walks in her door and gives each of them not only an education, but a passion to learn.

This year will definitely be fun year and I believe that a successful year starts with an open communication line between parents and teachers.  Please feel free to call (847-493-8382) or email (ssalemi@emsd63.org) anytime.  I look forward to getting to know you and your child!

    Thanks,
    Mrs. Salemi
