Hello, my name is Naomi Carroll and I am one of the kindergarten teachers here at Washington School.  I am excited to be working with all of you this year!
I graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I also have my Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an ESL endorsement from Concordia University.
I taught 5th grade for 9 years in Sauk Village, 3rd grade for 2 years at Washington, 3rd grade for 1 year at Stevenson, EL resource for 2 years at Washington, 3rd/4th grade for 1 year at Melzer, and now I am very happy to be back at Washington teaching kindergarten for the fourth year.
I grew up in Skokie and now I live on the north side of Chicago. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, walking my dog, Buster, going to festivals, trying new types of food, and reading!

  • I believe students should have the opportunity to work at their own pace, while still being challenged.  My instruction will be geared towards your child’s needs determined by assessments, observations, and discussions. Every child should have a safe environment in which they have the opportunity to work in groups, ask questions, learn through one another, and explore new ideas.  Again, if you have any questions, please contact me at ncarroll@emsd63.org or 847-745-6333.
