My name is Brandon Plos. I've been the PE teacher at Nelson School since 1996. I went to high school at Downers Grove South and graduated in 1989. I received my teaching degree from Northern Illinois University. I also attended graduate school and received my Masters Degree from Chicago State University. I love teaching young students to be active and helping them find their talents. Everyone has a talent, we just need to find it.
The best way to reach me if you have any questions or concerns is to call the office and ask to reach me or leave a messege. I will get back to you as soon as possible. I can also be reached through email at bplos@emsd63.org
Physical Education should build fit children. Educating the youth on the knowledge of movement, the ability to be specific in sports and the awareness of body and self is important and worthwhile. Through physical education, the student will enhance his/her 'physical me' concept. This will prepare them for their physical and recreational adult life. The student will obtain a sound body thus allowing the mind to work and grow.
My goals for my students focus primarily on the student adding to their educational experiences and knowledge base through various physical activities. I feel all students can learn and it is my responsibility to teach to the needs and development level of each particular student. As a physical educator I want my students to learn and appreciate the benefits of physical activity. I also want my students to acknowledge and appreciate diversity and to encourage others to participate in physical activity. I also want my students to engage in healthy practices and to exhibit strong morals, values and character.
