My name is Nancy Tatera, a first grade teacher at Melzer School  This is my 34th year teaching in District 63. I began my career at Gemini Junior High as an assistant for two years. I taught at Washington school for three years, teaching Third Grade and Kindergarten.  I have been here at Melzer for the past twenty-nine years teaching Kindergarten, First Grade, and 1st/2nd Multiage. Needless to say, I feel like Melzer is my second home.
I received my Masters of Literacy along with an English as a Second Language Endorsement from Northern Illinois University.  I also attended Illinois State University for my Bachelor of Science in Education degree.
I have been married to my husband Ed for 33 years. I have two wonderful sons, Ed and Andy. I love spending time with my family, reading, sewing, crafting and traveling with my sisters.
