Emergency School Closing Information
Emergency School Closings: School closings due to weather and other emergencies are posted on the District's website. Closings are broadcasted on most local TV and radio stations. District 63 will also activate the School Messenger phone system to call all homes when a decision to cancel school is made for inclement weather, typically before 6:30 a.m. for snow emergencies.
Winter Closing Guidelines: District 63 relies on a variety of factors when making the decision to close schools and works cooperatively with a number of area school districts.
Phone and Email Notification
Phone Alert System: District 63 subscribes to an automated phone alert system (School Messenger),which allows a recorded message to be distributed to all parents and staff within a very short period of time. The system utilizes the phone numbers parents and staff have provided to the school and District as their official contact information. Please make sure you have provided your school office with accurate information so you can be reached.
