Room 102--Lange's Land of Lifelong Learners and Leaders
Lange Leader News for March 14, 2014
We are doing great with our word sorts. Each week the students do an open, closed, alphabetizing, and a spelling sort. The patterns they are learning be used in their everyday writing.
We have been writing antonyms and synonyms for our vocabulary each week. Please ask your child to share some examples. The students are also using each word in a sentence to show their understanding of the word (this is part of the weekend homework). To help us master the meaning of so many words, we are role-playing and acting-out the words.
Please check your child's homework folder and assignment notebook for notes and assignments. The green folder is what we are using to share important information.
We are collecting Box Tops for Education to help support school programs. Each box top earns our school 10 cents. Last year we raised around $500. Also, please send in pop tabs from cans of soda. These will be sent to the Ronald McDonald house to help sick children and their families. This will be happening all year.
We have also been collecting $$ for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Thank you for your donations.
Each week we set a goal regarding learning. We make this public in a class meeting on Monday. Then Friday we discuss our progress with the goal during our end-of-the-week class meeting. Our progress this far is excellent.
Thank you to Baseer and Natasha for their help writing this update to our class website.
