What's going on in the art room? 

Fall 2011

Shapes and lines are everywhere!  It's very important for young children to practice their basic drawing skills.  In class we have been very busy drawing different kinds of lines, shapes & even painting with watercolor paints!  Please practice with your young artist at home!  Ask them about horizontal & vertical lines.... we have been practicing!

Fall 2010

Spring 2010 

Kindergarteners have become experts on texture!  We have made all sorts of pictures using different textures.  We even used one of the art pieces to create a beautiful sketchbook for the summer.  Any kindergartner who brings back their sketchbook full of drawings from the summer will receive a special surprise in the fall.  Have a creative summer!

December 2008 - January 2009

Kindergartners are working on learning their colors and shapes.  We have also been working on how to properly use all kinds of art tool; glue, scissors, paints and brushes are just some of the tools we are learning.  Practice makes perfect, so be sure to practice at home. 

September 2008

As the beginning of the year gets underway,  we will be exploring many areas of the art world and all it's fun techniques!!!!

May 2008

We are exploring the wonderful world of painting!  We have been painting everything we could think of ~ flowers, bugs, dinosaurs, even ourselves!!!

Put on your hard hats and get ready for construction...  Kindergarten is making 2D skyscrapers!
