5th & 6th Grade Art 2011

What's going on in the art room? 

We are multi-age!  Here is where you will find what's going on in the art room with the 5th & 6th graders!

Fall 2011

Both grades are studding how to creatively draw their names.  Fifth graders will be using that to create a repetitive kaleidoscope design; while the sixth graders will be creating their sixth grade memory tiles!

Chalk Pastel Fall Landscapes

 Spring 2010

The sixth grade learned the in's and out's of basic printmaking.  They created an original design, carved it and made a series of prints using all differnt colors of ink!

Fall 2009

Let's begin the year by making some memories!  Our first major project was to make our Sixth Grade Memory Tiles - Check them out, they are alreading hanging on the wall!

January 2009

Students are creating cities in one point perspective.  It is a difficult concept to do, but the kids are working very hard and taking thier time. 

November 2008

Reasearch and technology... 6th and 5/6 Muti-Agers are researching famous artists.  Our research will then be transformed in to spectacular Power Point presentations. 

September 2008

 Our top Stevenson Stars' sketchbook cover theme this year is "Who am I".  Students have brought in pictures, magazine cut outs, stickers, craft items, pictures printed from the computer and all sorts of other things to reflect who they are as people - right now.  We look forward to seeing what changes for them by the end of the school year. 

5-6 Multi-Age & 6th Grade

May 2008 

Now that the memory tiles are complete, we have begun a new project - this may be the last one of the year.  This project comes directly from one of our very own Stevenson Stars.  This student takes an after school art class at the Brickton Art Center.  One of the projects he made he liked so much, he asked if his class could make it!  So... Wednesday he taught the class the first three steps of the project ~ with great success!  Its a mixed media collage using oil pastels and watercolors.  Every project turns out to be unique and totally fun!

Sixth Grade Memory Tiles 

 We are getting ready to make our Sixth Grade Memory Tiles.  These tiles will be proudly displayed as a permanent part of our school.  Fifth graders in Mrs. Rieff's class will be working on a radial symmetry project.
