Nelson School

On behalf of the students and staff, I welcome you to V.H. Nelson School.  Nelson is located on the border between Niles and Morton Grove.  Our 615 students in grades K-6 bring an array of diverse cultures to our classrooms each day.  Nelson School provides a variety of services to meet the broad range of our students' talents and needs. 

New for the 2011-12 school year are document cameras or Promethean boards in most of our classrooms.  I do not know who will be more excited to take full advantage of our newest technology-the students or the teachers!

We are so fortunate to have an active and supportive PTO.  Please join us on the first Tuesday of each month in the Nelson Learning Center at 6:30 p.m..  The PTO not only provides fun activities and events for the Nelson community, but they also purchase many items that enrich our students' educational experiences. 

As always, please be mindful of the weather forecast and dress your child appropriately.  Thirty minutes of lunch recess can be a long time for a chilly child.

Thank you to those of you who have already welcomed me to Nelson School.  I look forward to meeting and knowing many more of you in the future.  Nelson is an amazing school and I am honored to be the principal!
