Healthy Snacks & Birthday Treats at School
The District 63 Board of Education has a wellness policy in fulfillment of the requirements of Public Law 108-265 and Public Act 094-0199. The policy places restrictions on food products like cookies, cupcakes, doughnuts, and other more traditional foods for consumption in school. Below is a “suggested snacks” list that identifies the types of snack foods that are aligned with the provisions of Board policy and considered acceptable for consumption at school. Please be aware of these snack items when sending food to school with your child. Also, we have a number of students who are allergic to nuts; we ask that any treats sent to school do not contain nuts.
