Private Lessons

The District 63 Music Department staff highly recommends students be committed to personal musical development through private instruction. Taking private lessons is a great way to maximize every student’s potential and gets the most out of playing in band.  A private lesson teacher can help with the following:

  • Provide extra motivation
  • Build an excellent foundation of fundamental skills for lifelong musicianship
  • Learn music outside of the school band music, more suited for the individual student
  • Help prepare students for auditions and playing tests
  • Get tips on how to maximize practice time
  • Solve rhythm or intonation problems
  • Improve sound and technique
  • Get students ready for high school

We are also extremely lucky in district 63 to have extremely talented, educated, and professional private lesson teachers.  The teachers below maintain very active professional performing and teaching schedules, and have the highest level of knowledge on their instruments.

If the teacher's name is highlighted in blue, you can click on their name to see their musical teaching and/or performing resume.
