Kindergarten Registration for East Maine School District 63

If you have a child that will be five before September 01, 2012 you may register him/her for kindergarten. Each of the six grade schools in the district will hold kindergarten registration for the 2012-2013 school year.

At the time of registration you will need a copy of the child's birth certificate, a copy of your lease or mortgage papers, three additional proofs of residency, (ComEd, Nicor, Phone bill, etc.) and a copy of the child's latest physical if you have one. The school will also provide additional paperwork to complete to register your child.

* 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

* 1:00 – 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday, April 18, 2012

* 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

* 1:00 – 3:30 p.m.

* 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

ISAT Testing

Students in grades 3-8 will be taking the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) March 5-16. All students in grades 3-8 will be tested in reading and math. Students in grades 4 and 7 will also be tested in science. Here are some tips to help parents prepare their students for ISAT testing:

Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep the night before the test
Make sure your child eats breakfast the day of the test
Let your child know that he or she should take the test seriously
Encourage your child to do his or her best!

Two editions of the Community Connection will be produced electronically. The district will email the Community Connection to parents/guardians who have an email address on file with the school. Therefore, it is more important than ever that all D63 families have a current email address on file so they are not cut out of the information loop. At least 1 in 3 student households do not currently have an email address on file. Do you? If not, call your school today! Why don't you update all your phone numbers as well!
