Dear District 63 Families:
Welcome to East Maine School
District 63! Here in our seven schools, we seek to empower all students to succeed in a changing world by offering a diverse learning environment that supports each student's unique pathway to success within a caring environment. Every child is different, and at District 63 we're committed to providing all students with the specific opportunities they need to thrive.
Success Without Boundaries: it's more than a tagline. Every day our teachers and dedicated education professionals live this philosophy, reaching beyond all kinds of boundaries to foster success: local and national borders, the perceived limits to learning faced by English language learners or special needs students, traditional classroom education, and the "boundaries" of the traditional school day!
Academic achievement is at the heart of our mission. Now, more than ever, students must have the skills to adapt to an ever-changing world. We meet this goal through the
Common Core State Standards, 21st-century technology, and
targeted intervention. From inclusive special education settings and dual language classrooms to high school-level math offerings and outstanding music and athletic programs, District 63 offers a quality education.
But success goes far beyond test scores. That's why we focus on the whole child, fostering social, emotional, and behavioral growth. Our incredibly diverse schools offer a multicultural perspective that enhances our students' education, and we stress the District's connections with the larger community -- to the benefit of both.
As Superintendent of Schools, I’m here to
ensure that every one of our schools is providing the best education possible
for your child. Superintendents are the link between your elected Board of
Education -- which sets District policies -- and the education professionals who guide your children every day. If you have questions or need additional
information, don't hesitate to call our the District at
847.299.1900. We're happy to help.
